'Working together: overcoming gender bias in medicine' conference

1st November 2019

The BMA and the Medical Women's Federation hosted a joint conference on overcoming gender bias in medicine at BMA House in November.

DSN had a stand at the event - we have many female members and it is apparent that gender related discrimination can apply to the way in which health issues are handled in medicine.

BMJ Live 2019

4-5th October 2019

DSN always books a stand at the annual BMJ Careers fair - now BMJ Live - held in October in London. This year, Cathy, Clive and Louise looked after the stand and met individual docs and organisational representatives over the busy two days.

DSN AGM & conference 2019

8th June 2019

DSN held its AGM and conference in Bristol on 8th June. Dr Phil Hammond's CLANGERS, keeping well for medics, specialist support and creativity were all on the programme!

DSN at EAPH in Oslo

20-21st May 2019

DSN presented at the biannual European Association of Physician Health conference recently held in Oslo. DSN co-chairs, Louise and Angelika presented 'In our Own Words: UK doctors talking about our own mental health' and members Shirley and Mary presented 'Autistic doctors - not an oxymoron'. read our talk on our blog here

DSN on BBC Radio 5 Live!

24th April 2019

DSN took part in a discussion on BBC Radio Five Live about the newly published BMA survey as well as the announcement of the new 24 hour crisis text mental support service from the Practitioner Health Programme.

Dr. Clare Gerada : ' We can't keep photographing the problem (physician health) - we need to do something about it.'

GMC Conference: Together

3rd April 2019

DSN had a stand at the GMC conference and met lots of delegates from all over the UK as well as networking with presenters. Dr. Caroline Ritchie and Dr. Louise Freeman looked after our stand at the event.
