UK based doctors and medical students, interested in physician health, are invited to join us for our FREE annual conference. This event is also suitable for other healthcare professionals providing healthcare for medics with mental ill health.

Equine Assisted Psychotherapy - an introduction

'Equine facilitated psychotherapy (EFP) gives us opportunities to interact and form relationships with horses, and to learn from these experiences in a way that involves us physically, emotionally and mentally.'

N.B. EFP is NOT about riding.  No horses will be attending this event!
 
Speaker biography:
After 35 years in England as both a Registered Nurse and as a therapist/counsellor in private practice, Mike Delaney has managed to enjoy a sustained career in mental health and addictive behaviours. Until 2015 Mike was Clinical Director and CEO of Bayberry Ltd, a residential treatment facility which was set up specifically for doctors, dentists and other healthcare professionals who had mental health/addiction issues.  

Mike will be introducing the LEAP model of Equine Facilitated Psychotherapy to Central Scotland through workshops, trainings and retreats but will also be providing sessional work for people with trauma, addictions and other mental health needs.  He has also jointly developed and taught the Crossfields Institute level 5 Diploma in Equine Facilitated Psychotherapy, The LEAP Method, for mental health professionals .
